Description: Our clients based within the Hoddesdon area are seeking an experienced Transport Manager who is seeking a challenging yet fun role. You will manage the group’s transport function ensuring on-going improvements, profitability and customer satisfactionMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Produce a strategic transport plan to support and deliver the group business plan - Maximising the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement of product- Continue the development and efficient running of the Transport operation- Ensure all transport functions throughout the group are managed in accordance with the transport plan and budget and in line with company procedure- Review all Company Transport procedures and policies making recommendations where necessary to make changes and where necessary implement change- Manage Company Transport procedures and policies across all branches ensuring procedures and policies are adhered to at all times and managing any non-compliance issues- Identifying, recommend and implementing new practices- To ensure the department achieves the maximum efficiency and revenue from the resources whilst meeting customer and company standards- To ensure best utilisation of drivers and equipment ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety and Transport Legislation- To provide ongoing communication and liaison with all branches and associated staff- Produce and seek sign off for transport budget- Manage and deliver to transport budget - Identify and recommend solutions to improve practices and implement changes as required to meet the needs of the business- Source vehicles at the best price & value and co-ordinate the delivery and repair of vehicles ensuring minimal down time- Recommend and implement a solution for a home delivery programme- Ensure all company vehicles are maintained and correct documentation is up to date with legal requirements in line with budgets- Manage Performance Management programme including Objective setting and Absence Management for direct reports in line with Company goals, targets and procedures- Provide support to the Warehouse team in the absence of the Warehouse ManagerYou will be responsible for 45 drivers and to ensure the smooth running of all deliveries, you will need to be a fresh pair of eyes into the company to check and set new KPI's into practice for all mileage, stock checks, returns, servicing of all vehicles. This role would suit a hands on person who enjoys being part of the team but needs to come in and implement new ideas and progress this role. Excellent role to progress and grow.
