Description: We are currently recruiting for a Project Officer (Senior Level) to work for our client, a Central London Borough Council. You will need to have at least 2 years previous experience in this type of role as well as good written and verbal communication skills. A NVQ Level 2 in Social Care or above would be ideal.Initially for 3 months but length of role may be extended.Tasks will include:To assist in the engagement element of delivering the Homes for Older People programme. Working with engagement manager to ensure care home and other residents are effectively involved.To develop and support models and structures to ensure people are effectively engaged and involved in all aspects of the of the development and delivery of the Homes for Older People programme.To support people to gain the skills, confidence and capacity to become actively engaged in the Homes for Older People Programme.Deliver appropriate events and workshops to engage people in the various aspects of the Homes for Older People project.To establish and develop good working relationships with care homes resident, members of the local community, community groups and service providers and to establish a conduit between local community concerns and relevant service departments.Liaise with colleagues, councillors, care home and other residents to involve them in the delivery of the Homes for Older People work.To participate in and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the work and share learning practice from the work within the council and with other agencies as required.Be responsible for drafting reports, presentations, documents and briefings for varied audiencesEssential:Experience of a range of methods and techniques for engagement in an inner city area preferably involving older people.Brokering and working in effective partnerships with older people and a range of organisations.Managing complex projects that include diverse groups of stakeholders. Demonstrate a positive approach to problem solving, creativity and innovative ways of workingUnderstand the importance of engaging older people in planning, delivery and evaluation Understanding of the issues affecting older people with a diverse range of needs and from diverse communities Successfully encouraging participation and involvement in community development and/or service delivery.Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with a range of people.To communicate clearly and appropriately verbally and in writing with a wide range of people and organisations.Due to the high number of applications that we receive, only the most successful candidates will be contacted immediately.
