Description The Company Our client operates a number of purpose designed industrial waste treatment plants and vehicle depots with easy access to major transport networks. Our client has strong technical expertise, environmental consideration (ISO14001), legislative compliance, innovative methods and high levels of service resulting in a package that is hard to beat. Vacancy As a result of expansion they are currently requiring to recruit a Site Chemist in their treatment plant which is both laboratory and plant based. Responsibilities You will be working in their bulk division and you will be involved in carrying out laboratory testing of waste samples (i.e. wet chemistry, strip tests etc). You will record and report results, identifying health and safety issues. You will also be assigning disposal routes, relabel materials, moving stock and operating fork load trucks. The role is highly varied and full training will be provided for the individual. Requirements: A Chemistry Degree or a Geoscience or Environmental Degree with modules in Chemistry and an a-level in ChemistrySalary: £15,450, rising to £16,450 after probationary period (usually 3 months). Then up to £18,500 when made senior chemist after about 12 to 18 months - Possibly shorter if candidate is fast-tracked Type: Permanent Shifts: No night shift, but weekend work required on a rota basis (with day off in lieu for a Saturday and extra pay for a Sunday)Is this you?
