Description: Successful and expanding automotive manufacturer seeks Senior Buyer to establish and maintain PSL and drive down costs whilst maintaining quality. The client are an industry leader in their field and are set for rapid expansion following recent investment. The buying team are now tasked with establishing a new PSL for the supply to materials, which will drive down overall material cost whilst maintaining quality and service. Your role will be to establish and manage this PSL working with new and existing suppliers to drive down costs. You will select suppliers, negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance, acting as the main point of contact between the client and its suppliers. In order to succeed in this Senior Buying role you should be a CIPS qualified procurement professional with a demonstrable track record of success in driving down materials costs in a manufacturing environment. If you have engineering experience this would be a plus, but is by no means essential. We are looking for a pure purchasing/procurement professional with an analytical mind, lateral thinking ability, first class negotiating skills and a can do attitude. In return we are able to offer a salary of up to £40K, car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, life assurance and medical insurance.
