Description: Our client is UK based, financial services company, they are the largest provider of life assurance and one of the biggest providers of index tracking investments in the UK. They also manage investments for the pensions funds of almost half of the FTSE 100 companies.RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, motivated, self-starter to contribute and lead procurement strategy whilst driving category management and development. This position liaises and builds influence with key stakeholders, whilst co-ordinating major procurement projects within assigned spend categories across multiple business areas of the UK Group. The departmental scope is to significantly influence 170 million GBP of UK business services spend (excluding non information technology or claims related expenditure) this role will typically directly manage a portfolio of approximately 10- 15 million GBP.Spend category experience, relevant to financial services, such as Print, Storage and Distribution, Records Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Professional Services, with a clear purchasing projects background would be desirable. RequirementsIdeally candidates will be degree and MCIPS qualified, with demonstrable achievements and benefits realisation in a comparable procurement position. Suitable candidates will need to have a high level of self-motivation and management skills with sound sector knowledge, and an appetite to maximise benefits and deliver significant cost reduction targets across non-centralised spend categories.
