This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, qualified and technically biased Quality Manager to join the team as demand for their product range continues to increase.The Role – Quality Manager Reporting to the Technical Director, primary responsibilities The maintenance and future development of the company’s ISO 9001:2000 quality management system with the overall aim of ensuring continued compliance with the standard.Acting as an inspector and the supervision and training of the Quality Control Inspector (QCI) and other staff involved in inspection.Acting as the Company’s representative on Quality, Health and Safety (H&S) and environmental issues.Acting as the company’s training coordinator.Specific responsibilities for the Quality Manager include: Compiling audit schedules, implementing and reporting on internal quality audits to verify that all company activities comply with the management system’s procedures, assisting where possible in the rectification of problem areasActing with the Manufacturing Manager and Technical Director in the evaluation and auditing of suppliersThe maintenance of the Quality database of test data and subassemblies for all finished productsProviding reports at least quarterly of NCRs and customer complaints to the MDActing as an inspector and the supervision and training of the Quality Control Inspector (QCI) and other staff involved in inspectionControl of metrology and test equipment calibrationActing as the company representative on quality, H&S and environmental matters including liaison withBVQI and other external quality organisationsImplementation of the company’s H&S policy utilising the QCI wherever possibleImplementation of the company’s environmental policyAssisting with the induction training of all new staff and the maintenance of an employee handbookAssisting in the development of new quality proceduresReinforcing the message of a continuous improvement environmentKeeping training records for all staffPerson SpecificationThe ideal candidate for the role of Quality Manager will be able to demonstrate the following:Experience in ISO systemsNecessary technical skill and formal trainingRelevant qualifications in quality management Relevant experience gained within a mechanical engineering workplaceAn excellent understanding of health & safety policies and procedures An excellent understanding of quality proceduresBe reliable and committedA ‘hands on’ style, providing practical solutions Able to engage actively with the shop floorPackage for The Quality ManagerBasic Salary circa £27 – 32,000 pa23 Days holiday (Excluding Bank holidays)Contributory pension Performance related bonusFree parkingTo apply for this role please send your CV and a covering letter via the email address shown.
