Our client is a world leader in publishing research and graduate level scientific information. The Guildford office has a requirement for an Editorial Assistant to work with the Editorial Director on the Global Chemistry publishing programme and English editions of Russian JournalsDuties include:- Assisting with administration of the global chemistry publishing programme- Gathering information and preparation of monthly reports on books and journals- Liaison with chemistry editors in Guildford, Heidelberg and New York- Preparation of presentations - Maintenance and updating of database records - Compiling usage and impact statistics for journal editors- Responding to author enquiries- Keeping things going when the Editorial Director is (frequently) out of the officeTo be considered for this opportunity you will have knowledge of administrative procedures, the ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines and good interpersonal and written communication skills. Microsoft Office computer skills are essential and scientific knowledge and understanding of editorial procedures would be an advantage.Salary £16,500.
