Head Of Sales UK & Ireland S&T Book Sales The role of Head of Sales UK & Ireland for the S&T Books division reports to the EMEA Sales Director, S&T Books.The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth through all sectors of the UK S&T book sales team.The position is full time and will be office based in Jordan Hill Oxford, although frequent travel will be required within the UK and Ireland.Key responsibilities include:·Formulate market-focused sales strategy to meet changing market needs.·Ensure sales team structure is appropriate to drive revenue growth expectations for the UK and Ireland.·Formulate clear goals and objectives for UK sales teams; ensure goals and objectives are effectively communicated to all teams members to provide shared vision of UK team strategy. ·Ensure that relevant coaching, mentoring and training are provided to team.·Institute performance monitoring, reporting and evaluation for team.·Evaluate and improve information and system provision to the team.·Formulate and help plan effective team meetings, conferences and other team activities·Meet and negotiate with major customers in the UK including the national book retail chains·Effective liaison with books stakeholders: Other book sales teams both S&T and HS; editorial and marketing books teams; RSO sales team; customer service and credit control team. ·Gather, monitor and evaluate competitive information and impact on sales book development activities·Provide market feedback to relevant groups.·Attendance at sales and training meetings and regular travelQualifications and Requirements:The successful candidate for this role will have very strong demonstrable leadership qualities and be able to effectively lead and motivate a large sales team.You will have a good working knowledge of the academic book sector in the UK and be able to use this knowledge to interact with the various stakeholders to guide strategy of the S&T books programme in EMEA.The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong presentation, negotiation and communication skills and show enthusiasm and be able to motivate people not just within the team, but other staff and customers.Self-motivation, initiative and analytical and decision-making skills are essential.For further information please contact Jonathan Bunkell: j.bunkell@elsevier.comAll applications, including a CV and covering letter or email outlining your interest in the role should be sent to Charlotte Bedding, Human Resources, Elsevier Ltd, The Boulevard, Langford Lane, Kidlington, Oxford OX5 1GB. c.bedding@elsevier.com
