Cost AccountantSwindon, Wiltshire, Sout West£35,000 salary guidelineWe are a specialist recruitment agency and we are currently recruiting for an Cost Accountant for our client based in Swindon.The Cost Accountant will be working as part of a team within the Accounting & Finance Department.The Accounting & Finance Department has responsibility for managing all aspects of the client's Cost & Profitability. The Department is split into 3 key areas, as follows:The Cost AccountantOperationsResponsible for day to day operations, including processing all invoices, expenses & payments Management AccountingResponsible for all aspects of management accounting, including month end accounting, management reporting, budgeting & forecasting, mid-term planning and providing expert support to the business for cost activities. Areas covered are product pricing, cost accounting, in house cost management, investment appraisal & asset management, inventory management & warranty costing)Financial AccountingResponsible for all aspects of financial governance & compliance and internal & external auditRole:The Inventory Coordinator has overall responsibility for the financial management of the client's Inventory, which is held both on & off site. The client's inventory consists of raw materials, components, work in progress and finished cars.Main Responsibilities: Financial Management of Inventoryo Monthly maintenance of Inventory Balance Sheet, including all financial transactions (accruals, prepayments & reallocations etc)o Monthly valuation of Physical Inventoryo Monthly reconciliation between Financial & Physical Inventory, including detailed gap analysis & countermeasures for any discrepancieso Preparation of monthly Management Reporting information for publication at various management levels within the businesso Short & Medium term Inventory forecasting & monthly reconciliation of actual v forecast.o Responsibility for annual Stocktake Activity (including liaison with External Audit).o Responsibility for a Business Plan Activity to eliminate the requirement to carry out a full physical Stocktake, without compromising accuracy or governance. o Liaison with key business areas (including Logistics, IT and Production Planning)Keep abreast of operational developments within the client and be involved in relevant Business Plan Activities (eg.
