Description: On behalf of this well known Legal 500 multi-Branched Client, Frances Armstrong Associates LLP is currently seeking a Commercial / Tax Solicitor for the firms Business department based in Surrey.The ideal applicant will be a specialist in tax and trust planning ideally with an international element and have significant proven experience of advising commercial clients. Our clients well established business law department has established a strong reputation as one of the leaders in the south east for providing high quality, approachable and accessible advice to mid-high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs. The role involves the full spectrum of tax planning for mid/high net worth individuals and commercial directors and owners of businesses including:Role and Responsibilities• Tax planning- domestic and international: UK income, capital gains, inheritance tax, corporation tax, NICs and VAT etc• To provide general advise to departments and fee-earners throughout the firm, and to clients, on taxation issues arising in the day-to-day work of the firm, such as; share option schemes, royalty payments, probate & Trust work etc• In merger and acquisition work, to prepare and negotiate tax deeds, tax and pensions warranties and related disclosures (directly with the other parties’ legal team) and liaise with the clients’ other advisers, alongside the transaction team.• Managing a large and varied caseload with a strong commercial approach.• Strong marketing and business development skills together with a proven track record in developing long-term client relationships• To build relationships with other tax professionals so as to encourage external case referrals, and to support the marketing activities of Business Law department.Key Attributes and Experience requirements• Qualified CTA, ACA, TEP with a tax bias or be qualified by experience• Ideally 5yrs+ experience working as a trust and taxation specialist• Commercial awareness• Client relationship skills; the ability to build and sustain relationships;• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• The ability to work as part of a team not only in the business Department but with internal teams across the business• The desire to assist in marketing initiatives• The ability to work well under pressure and manage a varied caseload• Solid IT skills with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook• Experience of working a case management system would also be desirableThe firm is offering a very competitive Salary and Benefits package which is openly negotiable and will be awarded in accordance with previous experience, skills and expectations.
