Description: Key Words: Core Network Engineer, ISP, Internet, MPLS, BGP, ISIS, OSPF. Major ISP requires Cisco certified core network engineer: working with most Cisco kit (switches and routers) & Juniper kit. ERX 1800 and JunOS based M5 and M7i platforms All key applications needed on an ISP network. eg: Radius/Tacacs+, DNS, NTP, SNMP. Sensible firewall configuration policies (Cisco PIX, Checkpoint FW-1, Linux iptables etc..) Setting up and running an LIR under RIPE. Network protocols (understanding, configuration, operation and troubleshooting thereof): IP, CLNS, IS-IS, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, PPP, L2TP and many others. QoS supporting implementing infrastructure which includes the use of MPLS exp bits, 802.1p cos, IP DSCP and IP precedence. Classification/marking/queuing on Cisco IOS (including legacy frfab/tofab cos syntax on older GSR linecards) and JunOS (scheduler maps etc). Making considerations for VoIP.
