Description: Programme Manager/ Senior Project Manager required by the leading player in the worldwide digital television market based in ideally Hampshire (between Southampton and Winchester) or possibly Middlesex (west of London). Digital television is a rapidly changing industry and this growing company is involved in the delivery of digital media across a range of platforms including satellite, cable, the Internet and mobile networks. A Programme Manager/ Senior Project Manager is required to work within the Research and Development projects group to deliver a large, complex programme of work involving development sites in UK, France and Israel. This project as at the heart of what the company is doing in the areas of IP delivery of video on demand and scheduled programmes. Your key relationships will be with the managers responsible for the development of software components and the successful deployment of solutions to the customer. You will take ownership of development projects and deliver completed software. You will identify, negotiate and commit resources, task and component ownership. You will manage 3rd party relationships as well as relationships between a variety of R&D sites.It is essential that you are a highly experienced Programme Manager/ Senior Project Manager who has implemented software in product development. You must understand the structure of a development project and be able to construct a plan using MS Project. You will have technical experience of system software development and have a high level of understanding of areas such as interfaces, data flow, memory management, timing and error recovery. It is essential that you have a thorough understanding of development methodology including requirements gathering, architecture, design, software estimating, defect analysis, test analysis and planning, configuration planning, build management and test automation. An understanding of Agile programming methodologies would be advantageous. You must be tenacious and be able to take ownership of work and drive management in a political environment. You must be able to motivate and persuade in a matrix organisation and multitask in a fast moving pressurised environment. Experience of iDTV (interactive digital television) would be desirable.
