Interim HR Advisors (x2)4 months Leicester c£27 to £30k (p.a)Our client, a well established organisation based in Central Leicester, has a short-term requirement (3/4 months) for two generalists, to assist principally with recruitment but with some employee relations casework.The key focus of the role will be to provide professional proactive and comprehensive generalist personnel advice and support to heads of department/offices, other managers and to individual members of staff in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures and current employment legislation.To support the achievement of corporate objectives through effective human resource management.Principle AccountabilitiesAct as a "business partner†to Heads of Department/Offices and other managers to address a broad range of personnel issues, including diverse casework, and disseminate good management practice.Provide confidential advice to individual members of staff on a broad range of personnel issues, including long term sickness, grievance, performance and discipline.Work closely with the Office Manager and general clerical team to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient clerical support service to the department and its users.Provide advice, guidance and support to members of the general clerical team and acts as line manager to one or more of the sub clerical teams in the absence of the Office Manager.Provide professional advice and support with regard to the recruitment and selection process and is responsible for overseeing the recruitment process to conclusion.Contribute to the development of personnel policy, practice and processes and may actas lead from time to time.Contribute to Personnel Services’ ongoing internal programme of Continuing Professional Development, including the design, development and delivery of training programmes and sessions.Work with Staff Development as a contributor to the review and development and delivery of people management related programmes.Qualifications, Knowledge and ExperienceEssential ·A degree or equivalent academic vocational qualification or experience.·Chartered membership of CIPD plus a minimum of two years’ experience in a generalist professional personnel role, ideally covering a broad range of personnel activities, or commitment to achieve chartered membership as soon as possible plus a minimum of three years’ experience in a professional personnel role covering a broad range of personnel activities.·An up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of employment law and its application to personnel issues.·Experiencing of handling difficult situations. ·Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Desirable·Experience of working with large computerised personnel systems, such as SAP.·Experience of job evaluation, preferably the Hay Scheme.·Experience of supervising or managing others.·Experience of working in an educational context.Skills, Abilities and Competencies EssentialCertain attributes and skills are required of all staff working within the Personnel Services.These are:·Energy, enthusiasm and confidence.·Ability to operate within the context of a high degree of confidentiality.·Ability to work to tight deadlines and to take responsibility for meeting agreed targets.·Ability to manage own time, organise and prioritise work.·Ability to work on own initiative and to be proactive.·Ability to work independently and as part of a team.·Commitment to continuing professional development.·Ability to recognise discrimination, in its various forms, and to take appropriate action.·Willingness to work flexibly, as and when required.Specific attributes and skills for this role:·Ability to analyse and assess personnel problems and identify and implement appropriate solutions.·Excellent interpersonal skills.·Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured reports.·Strong presentation skills.·Emotional resilience, with the ability to work calmly under pressure.If you have the right background and experience and you please forward your current cv to sarah@mackenziejones.co.uk quoting reference SE/2566
