Description: A Health and Safety Technical Officer is required to join a Health and Safety Team in North London for 2 months. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and develop information databases and support systems required by the team under the direction of the Principal Safety Policy Advisor. This will include paper and computer files, team library, journals, incoming post, information mailings and the servicing and co-ordination of safety management meetings. You will support internal communications by the production of statistics, records and reports of Team activities. You will research specific areas of health and safety to help in the development of Corporate safety standards and take part in briefing/training sessions as appropriate under the direction of the Principal Safety Policy Advisor. You will assist in the operational activities of the team including the audit and monitoring of designated areas and investigations into accidents and dangerous occurrences, policy development, implementation support, training and presentations to staff and managers. You will plan a work programme with targets, timescales and time allocation etc., as part of the Groups overall work plan. You will develop and maintain effective links with key staff and with appropriate outside agencies as directed by the Principal Health and Safety Policy Advisor such as professional and regulatory bodies in order to assist with the promotion of health and safety standards and best practices.
