Description: Our Client requires a Principal Structural Engineer to lead an engineering team in Birmingham in the design of buildings, footbridges and other miscellaneous structures within a rail environment supporting the Contract manager and Project Managers in delivery of all technical aspects of projects.Requirements * Competent to work unsupervised and to supervise others * Competent to check and approve the work of others * Competent to sign off design certificates on behalf of the company * PTS or other track safety qualifications (desirable)The Individual * Post-graduate relevant track record in the design of bridges and civil engineering practice * Knowledge of the rail industry and railway standards * Candidates should be computer literate and well versed in the use of structural analysis software (Super STRESS, ASAS and Archie) and Project Management software (P3, Suretrack or MS Project)
