Description: Following its recent merger with a Global Bank, to form the 9th largest banking group in the world, Our Client is investing to build a world-class Risk Decisioning team.A number of vacancies exist for Risk Analyst’s to join this team, where they will be responsible for key processes in the acquisition and management of customers in the Retail Bank. The positions are based in the Milton Keynes area, easily commutable from North London, Oxford, Northampton and surrounding areas with excellent transport links. Job Purpose / Specification:To drive the development, monitoring, exploitation and improvement of a suite of predictive behavioural models.The jobholder will join the core team responsible for building and maintaining models used to predict customer behaviour in order to target sales, marketing and risk management activities.They will take on a series of projects all the way from specifying the project through data extraction to development and implementation of a new model.The models developed by the risk analyst team will play a critical role in enabling our client to acquire profitable customers cost-effectively.The jobholder will be an excellent statistician first and foremost, but must also be able to manage stakeholders across the business, and manage complicated business changes through to delivery.This job can be tailored to individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels.Experienced candidates will be expected to able to operate independently in critical and/or contentious areas.Close guidance and training is available for candidates starting out in their careers.A background in Risk management or financial services is not essential for candidate able to demonstrate strong aptitudes for this role.Key Requirements:**A numerate degree, with a strong statistics component, or experience in a statistical role Operational Research, Applied Statistics, Statistical Modelling, Mathematics. ……….**Exceptional numerical reasoning skills**A passion for business analysis, and finding commercial value in data**Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to explain the results of complex analysis to a non-technical audience**Strong relationship and influencing skills, in particular the ability to bring about change in areas beyond the jobholders control**Strong project management skills, in particular a disciplined approach to delivering analysis or change accurately and on time**Ideally, strong spreadsheet analysis skills**Ideally, a proficient and experienced SAS programmer, experience of other programming languages would be acceptable C / C++ / SPSS / SQL etc**Ideally, with experience of Credit Risk management in Retail Financial ServicesRemuneration:£20k to £35k basic, subject to skills and experience.
