Description: Production ControllerCoventry£30,00028 DaysPermanent Our client, based in Coventry is a global supplier of large-scale fabricated metal assemblies to the power generation and rail industry enjoys an outstanding reputation for innovation, quality and customer service and are in a period of rapid growth in both turnover and profitability. They are currently seeking a production controller to join their planning team. Processes on site include sheet metal work, welding in copper/ brass and aluminium, fabrication and assembly plus overhaul and repair of complex safety critical assemblies. Reporting to the Production Services Manager, you will have day-to-day responsibility for a Material Controller, Production Control Assistants, and a Customer Liaison Officer. Key tasks: to ensure that the material planning is understood and in control at all times. To ensure that manufacturing schedules are updated to the established timetable. To prepare and maintain Forward Order Book and Despatch reports to the established timetable. To prepare and deliver customer delivery dates for new and existing orders through consultation with Purchasing, Design and Manufacturing departments in a timely manner. Acknowledge all new orders. To monitor progress and prepare reports. Assist in the development of the control of production processes as necessary from time to time, e.g. Minimum batches, Kanban, stock levels etc. Prepare detail reports to monitor manufacturing performance to he established timetable. To communicate with the sales team and customers on the progress of orders in a courteous, accurate and timely manner. Successful candidates will be trained people managers, have the necessary people skills to work confidently with all levels of staff, the backbone to challenge the status quo and preferably have some lean manufacturing or six-sigma experience.
