This role is based at our Bletchley site in Milton Keynes. Travel to customer sites is also required.The principal duties and responsibilities of a Drives System Engineer include:The main responsibilities will be to undertake a range of technical tasks such as: planning, designing, installing, testing, maintaining, and constructing. Drive System Engineers will work with specified products, services, systems, equipment, or projects. Train and support personnel from other departments, and may be responsible for providing technical support to customers. Hardware design and associated manufacturing data ie schematics, assembly layouts & Bills of Material. Provide detail Drawings for Manufacture & Assembly. Liaison with Assembly and Test Functions during Build. Contribution to functional, hardware, software and test specifications, as appropriate, plus any other system documentation. Production of a software design and associated code. Debug and testing of software at module, system and site level. Commissioning of equipment on Customers Site. Attend Emergency Service Callout when appropriate. Support Project Management by communicating regularly on progress and cost to Project Supervision, or carry out project Management tasks on small projects. Ensure all work carried out adheres to Engineering departmental procedures. Input to proposals being generated by Applications Engineering where previous experience is directly relevant .Actively seek out and participate in both formal and informal training and development covering both technical skills and personal development. Conduct duties in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations (specifically ISO 9001, ISO 14001), as well as all company policies and procedures.Customer sites are mainly in the UK, however flexibility to travel overseas is required.Backgroud and skills of a Drives System Engineer:It is essential that a Drive System Engineer has detailed knowledge ofDrives Systems, SCADA and Process/DCS systems.Specific Rockwell Automation product knowledge of PowerFlex, AC/DC Drives and MV Driveswould be advantageous.Minimum qualification required is an HND in Electro/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.Why join us?Rockwell Automation is far from being just another employer.Through innovation, flexibility, opportunity and development we set the standards in our markets.That’s why working for Rockwell Automation is far from just another job.
