ASSISTANT OPERATIONS / COMMERCIAL MANAGERSocial Housing Maintenance and Repairs / Decent HomesOur client is an expanding publicly quoted housing and property services contracting group. They are engaged on severallong-term partnering agreements for the maintenance of housing stock and Decent Homes programmes for many Local Authorities throughout the UK and seek an Assistant Operations / Commercial Manager to help run this particular contract in the Midlands.Our client seeks a Degree Qualified (or equivalent) commercially astute manager from a commercial or operations background who is capable of running and developing autonomous business units undertaking Maintenance, Repairs and Decent Homes refurbishment contracts within the social housing sector.Candidates must have worked in a "public" facing environment and be able to demonstrate a grasp of service provision in a social context. This background must include working with a main contractor perhaps as a Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Surveyor or Commercial Manager. You will also be able to demonstrate a progressive career record and excellent staff management skills incorporating leadership, communication and business development.The primary objectives for this position of the Assistant Operations / Commercial Manager are as follows:-Assist in: Enforcing Health, Safety and Environmental policies, deliver partnering as a business strategy, understand and meet theobjectives of the client, recruit, motivate and retain the best people, achieve the highest standards of service delivery, maintain the account relationship as an absolute priority and operate a high level of control and achieve the objectives of then incentive scheme.The Supporting Priorities are: -Consider group interest first, business unit interest second and branch interest third, develop effective people management skills, effectively manage people, continually improve business and^branch performance, have mutual trust and respect of the business and people priorities, tackle difficult issues early, ensure full compliance with the business standards, work as a team player as well as team leader, create a complimentary team within the branch, see partnering through the supply chain (up and down), ensure accurate monthly financial reporting.Career Progression: - General Manager, Operations DirectorIf the above describes you and your skills, and you are seeking an influential senior management role within a dynamic and progressive national business then we would like to hear from you.
