An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Servicing Underwriter based in our Southampton office.About The RoleSalary Range £14,000 - £17,000You will be required to take personal ownership of underwriting allocated quotations, proposals, policies, schedules and endorsements. To be successful you will need to work as part of a team, prioritise own work and workloads, ideally have sound product knowledge and some commercial experience, good influencing and negotiating skills and awareness of market issues and dynamics.Key Responsibilities To plan and process business so that personal workload is handled efficiently and effectivelyTo consider quotation requests, proposals and/or amendments to existing policies and calculate the premiums by reference to rating and underwriting guides.To be responsible for the end to end handling of own cases (from quotation to policy issue) making effective decisions within own authority level and referring to others when required with own suggestion based on relevant information.To respond to and take ownership of customer enquiries and allocated mail.To make a positive input into the teams effectiveness, suggesting ways in which work systems and processes can be improved.To work flexibly in a team, in a manner that demonstrates the organisations Brand Values assisting colleagues wherever pressure is greatest so that overall team performance in enhanced.To work with other members of the team so that personal competency and ability is achieved.Experience Skills & QualificationsCommercial experience is desirable but not essentialSound technical/product knowledge and a desire to develop this further would be preferredAn awareness of market issues and dynamicsAn ability to understand and use established systems and processesEffective interpersonal and communication skillsHighly customer focusedGood influencing and negotiating skillsGood analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to draft policy wordings/endorsements
