Description: An ecologist is urgently required to join this highly successful multidisciplinary consultancy based in Kent. Candidates for this position should hold a relevant degree, and preferably hold 1 or more protected species licences. Further qualifications and professional memberships are advantageous. Candidates should have field experience and also be able to show evidence of report writing in relation to surveys that they have carried out. It is essential that you hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to travel to sites across the South East of England. Main duties of the role will be to conduct various ecological surveys and write subsequent reports, mostly in relation to highway and transport projects, therefore any experience in these fields will be an advantage. Typical surveys include protected species surveys, EIAs and habitat surveys (phase 1). You may also be required to conduct species translocations and mitigation practices. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your ecology experience and knowledge in order to widen your career prospects.
