Manufacturing Engineer / Welding Specialist – CAA / Aircraft / Avionics / Aerospace manufacturing environment - £35-37k Manufacture of products for the aerospace aviation / aircraft / avionics sector, responsible for providing support and solving welding and tooling problems in production. Providing technical assistance on TIG and Resistance processes; Providing training relating to welding processes and visual inspection; Managing small projects and contributing to new product introduction and continuous improvement activities.Preparing and updating manufacturing / welding documentation and tooling; Creating process specifications and material purchase specificationsDuties relating to NADCAP accreditation.Applicants should be qualified to HNC level in manufacturing / mechanical engineering with an engineering apprenticeship. Detailed knowledge of the TIG process and effects of heat input in welding. Practical experience of using TIG process to a recognised standard – BS EN 287-1, ASME IX, CAA BCAR A8-10.Lean manufacturing experience. Willing to keep abreast of new technologies and ability to apply welding knowledge to assist with new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement programmes. Ideally candidates should also have experience of other welding processes e.g. EBW, Laser and Plasma. Knowledge of materials and their properties, particularly stainless steels, and of assessing macro sections of welds and other joining processes eg vacuum brazing or hand brazing.£35-37,000 + benefitsIn order to comply with EAA regulations candidates will berequired to provide an up-to-date CV together with proof of identity and qualifications.
