Description: As Apache Depth Safety Manager (ADSM) you will be accountable to the Apache Depth Aircraft Manager (ADAM) for the promotion of a comprehensive and enduring safety culture throughout the Depth Support Unit (DSU).Your main tasks and activities will include, but not be limited to:·Support the ADAM in all safety related matters, keeping him / her advised of any serious arisings as they occur·Produce and manage a Maintenance Error Management System (MEMS) audit plan and conduct audits to identify all opportunities to improve Human Factors and Maintenance Errors performance across the full spectrum of safety related disciplines within the DSU·Maintain an awareness of DSU processes and performance with respect to safety related parameters, and instigate remedial / improvement initiatives as required·Hosting and briefing visitors, promoting AW’s business objectives by active and positive PR, and demonstrating the added value of AW to Apache operations·Assist the ADAM in the achievement of the DSU safety related output performance targets·Act as the Flight Safety Officer, Safety Manager and DSU Maintenance Error Management System Manager·Represent DSU at external safety related for a as required. ·Arrange, manage/deliver the following Human Factors training to DSU personnel: induction, refresher and ad hoc targeted campaigns as required.·Maintain and control a MEMS database and manage action plan ·Conduct periodic reviews of MEMS processes·Coordinate actions of the DSU trained maintenance Error Investigators·Share experience of relevant MEMS issues / improvements across IOS community·Maintain a close liaison with DSU Quality Manager where MEMS identifies quality concerns / non-compliance·Maintain a close liaison with DSU Health and Safety Manager where MEMS identifies health, safety or environmental concerns / non-compliance.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE·You will be educated to HNC level in a relevant aviation-related subject or have demonstrable aviation safety related experience·Thorough understanding of Military Engineering and Policy procedures·Supervisory / management skills to lead the DSU Safety Management activities·Be able to communicate confidently and effectively with military officers, civil servants, VIPs and company staff at all levels.·Self motivated, able to take initiatives and work within teams and a matrix organisation·Excellent negotiation skills with ability to reconcile differences between individual customers’ and stakeholders’ competing demands·Effective and persuasive written and verbal communication skills·Astute business and commercial awareness, with sound understanding of performance criteria and organisation
