Description: My client is a leading name in the Aerospace and Defence systems Industries. As a result of continued growth they are now looking for Design Engineers.As part of a customer facing value stream / Technology Group, you have the opportunity to join a highly disciplined team of Professional Engineers and Support functions working on new Product Introduction Programs relating to new customer platforms.You will resolve innovative conceptual solutions and robust product configurations to demanding customer requirements and internal constraints.You will have exposure to the latest leading edge technologies associated with electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical actuation systems and you will also have the opportunity to participate in the advancement and maturity acquisition of these technologies.Career development opportunities exist along both Technical Leadership and Professional Specialist routes. You will have access to world class engineering tools and training and you will have the opportunity to make the difference in a highly dynamic, high technology environment.Principal Accountabilities:Generation of design concepts and product configurations for highly integrated actuation systems comprising mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic engineering technologies.Active involvement in all stages of product introduction; including new business acquisition, post contract concept and detail design and support to qualification and transition into production phasesApproval of Designs as regulated by Chief Engineer's OfficePersonal Characteristics:A good degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, A strong acumen and passionate interest for design. Proficient in the use of CATIA V4. (CATIA V5 would be advantageous)Preferably experienced in the design of performance and weight optimised high technology products. A creative mind and a natural aptitude for problem solving.
