Description:
A leading aerospace manufacturer is looking for a Print Operative to work a 6 month contract.The responsibilities will be to operate the print engines and print finishing equipment within the Print Room. Main tasks and activities include but are not limited to:*Operating Xerox Docutech 6135 and Docucolour 8000 printing machines.*Operating the Xerox Digipath scanning facility to obtain digital files from hard/soft copy master material for printing and archiving within the Tech Pubs Library.*Manipulating electronic files sent from customers to achieve the required page layout and balance.*Setting up and operating machines to accommodate the size, thickness, and surface characteristics of the required stock (paper, card etc).*Operating all finishing equipment within the Print Room (eg tabber, drills, guillotine, folding machine, creaser, laminator, binding machine, etc).*Undertaking basic fault rectification and maintenance.*Working to specific contracted publication specifications as required for the printing of technical publications.The successful candidate will ideally have the following: *Possess printing working knowledge would be advantageous. *Computer literate and familiar with / or willingness to learn software relating to printing, graphics and applications used to generate data files for print input would be ideal but not necessary. *Good interpersonal skills and the flexibility to change to working arrangements, would be ideal. *An eye for layout, presentation and the appearance of print output would be advantageous.
